Missouri is a leader in the production of both black walnut and white oak, giving us access to a bountiful supply of two of America’s most desirable native hardwoods. We source close to home and select for color, figure, width, grain, and the potential of the finished piece.

Rainy Creek Mill Works is a niche Missouri hardwood company built around two species we know exceptionally well: black walnut and white oak.
Every stage of processing is handled onsite at Rainy Creek. We source local logs, mill them, kiln dry the lumber, surface the boards, and carry select projects through fabrication and finish without sending the material through a chain of third-party processors.
Fewer handoffs mean less transportation, outside markup, scheduling, and handling. More importantly, the wood stays under our control from the first cut to the final surface—a meaningful cost and quality advantage for our customers.
With 40 years of furniture and cabinetry experience behind our work, we understand lumber from both sides of the bench. We do not simply sell boards—we produce material with the finished piece in mind, whether it is headed to an independent craftsman, a builder, or our own shop.
